The word “pandemic” literally means a global disease or illness. Covid-19 is just that, a global disease. Here in North America, it has profoundly affected our daily lives in ways that we would have never expected just a few months ago. But as much as our daily lives have changed, our brothers and sisters in developing counties have also been impacted even more severely. In Honduras, enforced travel restrictions have drastically reduced the availability of food in the remote communities where many Moravian congregations are located.

The Moravian Board of World Mission received a communication from the Rev. Raby Becam, president Moravian Unity Province in Honduras, asking for assistance with the purchase of food. With our Moravian Disaster Response fund (MDR), we were able to send enough money for them to purchase some much-needed food and supplies.

We thank all of those who continue to support our MDR fund so that when a crisis like this hits, we can rapidly respond.

We have received a kind note of thanks from Brother Raby with the pictures of the food that they were able to purchase. May God bless our Moravian Brothers and Sisters in Honduras as they seek to feed their flock both spiritually and physically.
