Greek Conference Gears Up
Thursday Feb 18th
I hope this finds you all well. I just wanted to remind you that Greek InterVarsity's annual Greek Conference starts TOMORROW (2/18) and invite you again to pray with us for this potentially life-changing weekend!
In just a few hours, Christin and I will drive up to Charlotte along with other staff and volunteers to pray together and finish preparing all of the last minute details before students arrive tomorrow. Then, the next 48 hours will be full of fun, great fellowship, worship, teaching and discussion with more than 250 (nearly 20 from Clemson) fraternity and sorority students coming from all over the country (literally) to Connect with God, Learn to Lead and be empowered to Change the World.
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement leading up to this event. They definitely have been felt and much needed. Will you also join us,If so then, this weekend in praying for the weekend?
I want to invite you to pray with us specifically for:
1. For last minute attendees: Every year, a handful of students inevitably sign up on the last day or just show up at the conference and register there. And it is often these students who are most impacted by the Lord during the weekend! So please pray for students to continue to invite their friends--especially those who are not yet believers or who are struggling--and for God to give them a desire to join us this weekend!
2. For safe travel for all students, staff and volunteers: from Washington state to Boston to Clemson, students are literally coming from all over the country for this weekend to be met by God. Please pray that everyone arrives safely and ready to jump right into the conference!
3. For all staff, speakers, small group leaders and prayer ministers: that God would fill us with His Spirit, speak through us and use us to minister to the hearts of many. I will be directing a breakout/concentration for juniors and seniors called INFLUENCE, where we will be casting vision and talking specifically about what it means to make and impact on campus and in the world for God's kingdom. Please pray for my talks on Friday night and Saturday, and for all those teaching and leading discussion this weekend.
4. That God would soften the hearts of students to hear and respond to the Gospel, and that it would create a ripple effect on campuses across the country: Please pray especially for students coming who aren't yet following Christ or who are Christians by name only, that they would encounter Jesus this weekend and accept His transforming grace! This is why we host this conference every year: for students to be transformed by God and sent back out to renew their campuses and fraternities and sororities, and ultimately, that they would partner with God in changing the world! Please pray for this vision to become reality as a result of this conference this weekend!
That's all for now. But please know how much I continue to appreciate and truly thank God for each of you for who you are, for your consistent prayers and encouragement and faithful support pf this ministry. I look forward to updating you on all God is going to do after this weekend!
Your friend, brother and partner in ministry,
Dusty
