Marni Wickert (sister of BWM Director Taylor Wickert) joined a team of Watertown Moravians who attended the 2nd National Conference of the Moravian Church in Peru in August 2019.
The Peruvian pastors and leaders were blessed by a session “Preaching and Worship Planning Throughout the Church Year,” led by Pastor Kurt Liebenow. Brother Jeff Mallach and Sister Deb Fischer conducted a workshop on “Sustainable Business Practices” that was very well received, especially by the people who are involved in projects that are partially funded by BWM Mission Grants. Sister Marni brought energy and joy to the gathering as she shared about Young Adult and Camping Ministries in the USA and even sang some camp songs!
When the newly elected Peru Moravian Board met with BWM Executive Director Justin Rabbach and Director of Mission Outreach Sam Gray, they started making plans for a camp that they hope to offer next summer.
It was great to see the mutual sharing and fellowship that could take place as sisters and brothers from different places, languages and cultures came together.
